Don't tell me Image-Line couldn't have rejigged their code for the fruity sampler and Directwave to cobble together a native 64-bit Soundfont player, in a super quick turnaround.īut, I have my theory why they let the Soundfont. I mean lets be honest here, I'm no programmer, but a Soundfont player (of all things) must surely be one of the easiest things to code, no? It's just like the samplers they already have (only will less functions). What? Then, why wouldn't you simply make a new 64-bit version yourselves, that would be compatible with projects previous saved with the old one. Never really bought into their excuse about losing contact with the original programmers of their native 32-bit Soundfont player, and so could not make a 64-bit version because they were 'locked out' of the code. It's a damn shame Image-Line abandoned Soundfont support so blatantly.
